It means that Pinterest is going to see a lot of new searches about summer related activities like graduations, weddings, camping, etc. In case you haven’t noticed, Pinterest searches are VERY seasonal and can usually be predicted month to month and holiday to holiday. Your goal as a blogger is to get in front of people who are searching for those trending topics.  So what can you do to prepare? Below I’ve made a list of the things you can do to your Pinterest account to prepare for the influx of searches.

But first, let’s take a look at what people will be searching for on Pinterest in May…

  • Teacher Gifts
  • Summer Travel

  • Mother’s Day

How you can prepare for May Pinterest Searches:

Arrange your boards according to trending topics the topics listed above. If you have boards dedicated to any of these, they should be put at the top of your Pinterest profile. This way people visiting your profile page, will immediately see relevant boards.

Update & optimize the descriptions on your pins to be keyword rich. This one is a bit of a pain, especially if you have a lot of pins. But you’ll want to go in and optimize your pin descriptions to feature keywords that people may be searching as well as a call to action.

Pin, Pin & Re-Pin. Because these are the pins that everyone is searching for right now, you should be pinning & re-pinning any pins that you have currently pinned in group boards and on your own boards. The more re-pins your pin has the more traction it’s going to get in search results.
