Psst...if you are looking to start a business. You are in the right place. Welcome!

Congrats! You got to the Content Upgrade…..content upgrade 😉

If you are looking to instantly boost your email subscriptions, offering a premium content upgrade is a GREAT option! In the presentation above, I show exactly how to deliver the content upgrade to your audience for FREE using Mailchimp!

BUT…..if you are not the visual type, I’ve also outlined the basic steps below!

Step 1:Upload/Place the content upgrade onto a WordPress page (not post!)

The first thing you’ll want to do is upload your premium content to a WordPress page. So if your premium content is a video, you’ll want to embed the video code. If it’s a downloadable worksheet, you’ll want to upload the worksheet to a WordPress page. Once your content is on the page. Click on Visibilty-> “Password Protected”. Enter a password for the post and click on publish. This makes your page invisible to anyone who does not have the password.

Step 2: Create a Mailchimp Account

Mailchimp accounts are free for up to 2,000 subscribers. So if you are just getting started, this is a cheap way to do it.

Step 3: Set up your list

Create a list in Mailchimp specifically for this content upgrade. Going forward, you will want to create a separate list for each content upgrade that you offer on the site.

Step 4: Set up your subscriber form

Create the embeddable signup from for your content upgrade. Place the code wherever you want the form to live. This can be in a blog post, the sidebar, or on a separate landing page.

Step 5: Customize the Confirmation Page

The last step you need to do is customize the confirmation page that your future subscribers will see upon confirming their email. On this page, you should put a link to the secret password-protected page you just made along with the password. This will give your confirmed subscribers instant access to your premium content!

That’s it!
