The One Secret about Becoming a 6 Figure Blogger That No One Talks About

I see so many “6 Figure Blogging Success” courses & promises plastered all over Facebook & Pinterest, that I just want to puke. It’s so disheartening to see people selling the dream of being a successful blogger as a get rich quick scheme or a formulaic equation. There is no single formula that will make you a 6 figure blogger. Blogging is a journey…and everyone’s journey is different.

If you a really want to know the secret to being a 6 Figure Blogger? It’s this…

“To make a million, you must HELP a million”.

Take a moment and think about that statement. It’s profound, right?

The real key to making your blogging career a huge success is to help people. It’s to give them what they are looking for, that special something that they can’t find anywhere else. While you made the decision to start a blog, your readers will determine how successful you are, and that all depends on how well you treat them and help them.

Think about your favorite bloggers…how have they helped you? Are they teaching you something new? Do they entertain you on gloomy days? Are they inspiring you to be your best self?

Sidenote: I did not come up with the “To make a million, you must help a million” phrase. I heard it at a conference once and cannot for the life of me remember which speaker said it! If you know who originated that saying, please let me know, so I can give them credit! :)

  1. Could not agree more! It takes so much work to run a blog, and the truly successful ones did not get there overnight. I am going to give this idea a lot of thought as I decide where I want my blog to head this year.

  2. Great advice! I need to work on really honing in on what I can do to help others when I write a blog post! You rock girl! Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. Very true, the two types of blogs I follow regularly are ones that either inspire me (fashion or travel-wise) or help me learn new tips and tricks. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Great tips! There are days that I really love my blog, and other days when I get discouraged. I don’t think people realize how much goes into blogging! I post recipes, so not only do I need to perfect each one, but then take photos and write a post. I am in it for the long haul, though, and I am determined not to give up.

  5. Love this! Blogging, as with all kinds of businesses, is all about community. We need to lift others up around us, helping them when we can, giving a lot, which will in turn help us as well. - Katy

  6. I absolutely adored this post!! I’m so glad I came across your blog. You definitely have a new fan :)

  7. I feel that it is this thought and motivation that creates longevity, money will come and go but investing in people is way more valuable. Thanks for the great post.

  8. Great and practical tips! Giving of ourselves - and then we will receive for sure! I truly believe in that principle!!!!! Now I must incorporate it and tweak it a bit more!! Thanks

  9. Simple and true, Simple and true. Good perspective to take, and really are there any more than 2 percent of full-time bloggers making that kind of money? I don’t know that any of us are in it primarily for the money. This is definitely the least lucrative job I have ever had! But I LOVE IT!

  10. I love this advice! Blogging for me has never been about the money (I have yet to make a dime and I am totally ok with that). I do it because I love it, and meeting and connecting with new people is very rewarding. I can only hope that my healthy recipe ideas will inspire/help others out there.

  11. Good point! I actually really don’t believe about 90% of those bloggers who say they’re making six figures… I think it’s promotional and they hope that writing that will make them one. Maybe they’re envisioning it like the secret? None of have really been helpful.

  12. Thank you for saying this! It’s restored my motivation to go ahead with my freebie program next month. it’s all about helping people! Thanks as well for the idea to make a list of how I can actually help people.

  13. There are so many posts about making loads of money from blogging these days, but I’m glad you brought it back down to reality. Yes, there are certain techniques you can use, but everyone is different in their audience and blog, and it’s not about checking things off a list to get to that type of income. Continuously give people something that is useful, and that’s when you start seeing your hard work pay off.

  14. I simply LOVE this post. So true. There are too many “get rich quick” dreams that aren’t realistic and aren’t authentic! If my readers take one thing from my blog I hope they can relate to my personality, KNOW that I want to help make their lives easier (and healthier) and appreciate them!

  15. Thank you so much, Chrystie for this bit of encouragement. I just started a blog this month after literally YEARS of convincing myself that no one wants to read what I have to say and that I could never make blogging my full time career. I still have a looong way to go, but I feel really energized to keep going and not give up. I just found your website this afternoon while doing research for my blog and every. single. one of your posts has provided me with such a wealth of actually USEFUL and helpful information that I’m literally implementing as I write this. Thanks for living your own advice :).
