How to Make DIY Instagram Backgrounds for $5.00
Make your own Instagram Backgrounds
You guys!!! I have been lusting after this wall in Houston and after lots of scheming and planning with my husband we figured out a way to achieve a similar look without having to paint the outside of our house 😉

The first thing we did was purchase wood at good old Home Depot. We went with a 4×8 thin sheet of utility paneling ($10.00) and had it cut down to size (3.5 ft x 4 ft) right at the store. YES, they do this for you right in the store. All you have to do is ask. I think it costs like $.25 per cut, but it’s sooooo worth it because that way you don’t have to worry about using a saw + it’s a lot easier to transport two smaller pieces of wood than it is a 4×8 piece of wood. We opted for 3.5 feet because that’s about all the space we could fit in our SUV 🙂

While at home depot, I also purchased 4 of the Glidden paint samples in the colors that I wanted. They were about $3.00 each. Once home we painted the pieces of wood with a small roller. My recommendation for you is to pour the paint right on the wood and use the roller to spread it around. The lighter colors will need two coats, while darker colors will only need one.

We screwed two screws into the fence for easy hanging!
The next thing we did was to drill two holes at each end of the board. This way we could hang it wherever we liked..outdoor or indoor! For the outdoor part of this project, we screwed two screws into our fence and whenever we need to can then just hang the background on the fence. It’s PERFECT! For indoor photography, I have a background stand that we used to hang the backgrounds. I simply used a shower curtain loopy thing to attach it to the rod.

I also used shower curtain hooks to attach the backgrounds to a photography hanging pole thingy!
The photo above shows you the before & after picture. I used Photoshop to enhance the image and extend the background! P.S. Photoshop is like $10 a month and SOOOOO worth it!
So there you have it…Indoor/Outdoor Instagram Backgrounds for only a few bucks each!
Love this! So clever. I do the same to make backgrounds for photos since my kitchen needs renovated and has hideous counters!
Great idea! 🙂
Awesome idea mama especially if you live in an all tan world like I do!
